Community Shared Responsibility

A collaborative initiative driven by the Top 100 Filipinos on LinkedIn to give back to underserved communities. It involves individuals providing support through donations, volunteer work, and knowledge sharing to create positive and sustainable changes.

Why Help?

Foster a sense of social responsibility

Create a more equitable society

Make a positive impact on the lives of those in need

Objective

Provide essential items (e.g., cash, sacks of rice, Christmas grocery baskets) to beneficiaries like Baseco and Kalinga Apayao kids based on their expressed needs.

Christmas Basket Program

The Christmas Basket Program is going to be an annual community event coordinated by the Top 100 Filipinos on LinkedIn.  Every year we are going to bring together many organizations, businesses, churches, and individuals to provide “Christmas” for struggling families who might otherwise go without.

1. The Christmas Basket program is designed to reach those who are experiencing the greatest financial challenges at this special season.

2. It is open to those families who have minor children (12 years of age and under) that live in Baseco, or Kalinga Apayao.

3. Beneficiaries are based on the endorsement of identified families in need by our partner – Fray Onin Andrade of San Agustin Church

Adopt a Family

People can assist in numerous ways. To help with the cost of the food hamper purchases, we require financial contributions. Every donation and every penny goes to the families. Families must be adopted by people, groups, or organizations. Volunteers are also required to assist with gift and food basket preparation, organization, and wrapping.

1. Beneficiaries must reside within Baseco, Kalinga Apayao.

2. This initiative is open to families with underage children who are facing financial difficulties and are unable to support their families during the Christmas season.

3. Each participating family doesn’t just receive a substantial package containing food essentials, basic items, and personal care products, but they also get a sizeable adorned box filled with wrapped gifts tailored for each family member. Furthermore, they are provided with a gift cheque for  a local grocery store.

4. For those interested in “adopting a family” through this program, descriptions detailing the family members’ ages, genders, and sizes are readied and positioned on a “Christmas /Jesse Tree” located at the Church’s starting around late November.

5. Local businesses, groups, families, and organizations can then “adopt” these families. The adopters subsequently purchase presents for each family member, with a special focus on the children. This includes not only toys, but also clothing and household necessities. After buying  the gifts, they are wrapped and placed into the provided gift boxes. These boxes are returned to the Church on the designated Tuesday and Wednesday during the basket distribution days. Our dedicated volunteers then arrange the boxes and assemble the accompanying food hampers that go along with each box.
